I have owned several dSLR holsters in my lifetime and know what to look for in one. First, it needs to be comfortable. A holster is designed for quick, easy access to your SLR and if the company messed that first step up its over. This case does not mess itup at all. it is fast and easy to the draw which i like. Secondly, the case needs to scream "PROTECTION!" which this one does as well. fully padded all the way around makes it seem like i could drop the thing and itll be alright. never would do that with my $2500 dollar camera inside. HA!

Nikon batteries are way far too expensive. No question about it. But every single one that I have ever bought worked just fine.

I have tried several different knock-offs and aftermarket batteries in the EN-EL3Es. I had great hopes for these Opteka 2,000 mAh batteries. I bought two of them. One absolutely won't hold a charge and won't work in my D80 or D300s. At least initially the other seems fine. Time will tell.

Summary: Disappointed again. You do seem to get what you pay for if it has the Nikon brand name printed on it. I'm back on Amazon buying another overpriced Nikon brand battery.

I bought two of these Opteka EN-EL3e batteries, charged them up, and they both failed to work with my Nov 09 Nikon D90. Amazon should warn people about this battery's lack of comaptiblity with a new Nikon D90. Maybe the Opteka baterries were manufactured wrongly or has no quality control to check if thier batteries work in a D90 before it is shipped to the USA. Buy the original Nikon instead.

This item works on my D80. When I received it, I had to do a full charge. Although after the full charge, the D80 did not show full charge, it did work. I took a few photos (about 10-12) on that day and kept the camera back. About a month later, today, I took the camera out and tried to switch it on - but it was dead. I had to switch to the original Nikon battery and only then it worked.

I want a reliable product and seems like there is not much worth in trying a replacement battery. I am going for the original. Luckily Amazon is taking it back for a full refund, and so it is going back. Great customer service from Amazon.

Best product for features that we could find for the Nikon D200, including Nikon's own. But, the battery hatch is flawed in that a sliver of plastic can easily break by simply opening the hatch to check or insert a battery. When it happened to ours right out of the box, we tried to contact the company, who appeared to make themselves UNAVAILABLE. We considered this a rejection of warrantee responsibilies. As the unit remains "usable" we will live with it. Many other buyers must be in the same situation. This after one review described the seller as being responsive to buyers' problems.

It works fine (so far, as it's made in China), but as another reviewer pointed out, the receiver is BIG, and the attachment cable is very long. I ordered this as a replacement for another model (ordered from Hong Kong 2 years ago, which simply stopped triggering the shutter release of my camera (D300)), and that receiver was relatively compact.

In contrast, this transmitter is conveniently compact.

In sum, it seems to do the job, with the caveat that - in my opinion - the receiver is much too large, and toting around the two units does take up more space that I would like, given that I try to travel as lightly as possible to the place I like trekking in (see tpmorrow on flickr).

The unit works great...right out of the box. The remote trigger is compact and so far no need to use the antenna. The receiver unit is a bit bulky but with a little ingenuity, you can set up velcro strips and attach it to your camera stand or if outside use a rubber band and attach to a leg of your tripod.

Anyway, good product and would recommend for professional use (untethered).

I purchased this product for my Nikon D300 and for those infrequent times I need a remote shutter release. Knowing how often this will be used, I've decided to go with non-Nikon accessory due to it's price.

My initial response to the product when I took the product out of it's box is how cheap it felt. It is very light and plastic used to mold the shutter release itself feels cheap. However, it does not feel like it is going to break apart in an instant. The shutter release button doesn't feel as solid as the camera's shutter release. Half pressing the shutter release feels too light and does not require much pressure, however, full press to release the shutter feels good and does the job. The connector looks good, pins look straight and solid. When I first plugged in to the camera, it was rather a tight fit so I repeated the process to loosen up the plastic a bit.

All in all, as a non-Nikon product it does the job flawlessly as it was intended. I would recommend this product to casual users but for pros, I can't say how long it may last.

I used a small "dab" of white paint to mark and match up the white mark on my camera body for easier insertion of the remote plug without any guesswork, which works just fine! Does exactly what I needed for an extremely reasonable price. Easy to hook up. I use this for the times I have my camera on a tripod, usually for HDR photos where I shoot 5 bracketed exposures at a time. Also when I'm using a non-image stabilized lens for landscape or architectural photos. So far has worked every time. Light weight - not industrial strength but should last a long time with normal use. A real bargain!

I bought and tried this on my Nikon D700 and D200, then sent it back and bought the Nikon part (MC-30) that costs more than 3 times as much. Issues: The cheap cord's screw-in collar would not screw into my D700 no matter how hard I tried, although it did screw into the D200. The Nikon cord screwed easily in. The cheap cord is tightly coiled, which means it won't extend to anything close to its advertised length; the Nikon cord is straight. Finally, the cheap cord has a very flimsy switch with an uncertain initial position; the Nikon has a solid switch that with a solid feel.

Electrically, the cheap cord seemed to work OK. No idea if it would hold up with use.

So, I strongly recommend spending the money for the Nikon MC-30.

"Stopped working way too quickly." 2010-01-06

I bought this shutter release last year but never used it. Then I bought a 10 stop neutral density filter before taking two trips this summer and this product did exactly what it's supposed to do. I couldn't have been happier. That's why I gave it two stars. I took it out today to do some long exposures of a spectacular sunset and got one shot with it before it completely crapped-out. Unacceptable. I got home and took it apart so see if it was because of a battery by any chance. No dice. Cheaply made device, not made to last. You get what you pay for. It has always felt a little flimsy and cheap, but I was hoping it was a diamond in the rough. If you have one that lasts I consider it a good buy, but there was no reason for this device to fail the way it did.

Due to the convenience of deleting unwanted photos and inexpensive media storage, we take a lot more photos than the film era. Today's digital camera puts a lot of stress and loading on the battery, hence the battery grip becomes an essential accessory to most of us. Jenis battery grip uses the same build material as the original manufacture on all its product lines, to ensure a long time trouble free operation with your beloved digital SLR camera. The build quality and ergonomic not only matches the original equipment, there are some added functions on the higher end products that are designed with the professionals in mind. The extra features are not available either from the original equipment or the other battery grip on the market. The S model (Standard) provides the same function/capability as the original equipment. This battery grip is absolutly amazing. It will hold two EN-EL3e batteries or four different types of AA sized batteries. It has a timer and intervalometer built into it as well. The small LCD is backlit for night time operation and is powered by a CR2016 battery. It meters the date, year,day of the week, and time down to the second. The D300s bas intervalometer settings in it's menu making the one on this battery grip not needed but, when you actually consider that this grip is 100 USD less than the Nikon MB-D10 and does all of the same things this becomes a must have. You will need this once you realize how quickly the D300s reduces an EN-EL3e to a paperweight.
